For an active and inclusive mobility

Several women are proposing ways to achieve a more active, safe, inclusive and sustainable mobility.

We need short-term measures, such as the “pink trains” (women-only carriages), together with structural measures that guarantee traffic without harassment or deaths, free of charge and non-polluting.

Observatóriodos Trens

To fight for a transport system that guarantees people’s lives and dignity, Rafaela Albergaria founded the Observatório dos Trens (Train Observatory), which is dedicated to the research, the mobilization and advocacy to reduce railway deaths and accidents in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. Women are at the forefront of cyclo-activist movements, which defend the use of bicycles as a sustainable means of transport in cities, demanding cyclists’ rights and their safety on public roads.
